Virginia Museum of Transportation
For an engaging glimpse of the history of transportation, visit the Virginia Museum of Transportation, the official transportation museum for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Exhibits include diesel, electric, and steam locomotives including the 611-steam locomotive, a National Mechanical Engineering Landmark. The museum also houses model train exhibits and road vehicles.

O. Winston Link Museum
Experience America's steam locomotive era through O. Winston Link's acclaimed photography of 1950's life along the Norfolk and Western Railway. Galleries are in the restored N&W Passenger Station, designed by Raymond Loewy. Featuring interactive exhibits and train viewing areas.

The Roanoke Symphony
The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Music Director and Conductor David Wiley, is the only professional orchestra in Virginia, west of Richmond. It has earned a national reputation for distinctive performances of traditional repertoire and high-profile pop concerts featuring jazz, blues, R&B, and country music guest artists.
