City Market at the River Pops Up For 2014
The Historic City Market’s pop-up series returns to River’s Edge on Thursday nights,
July 10 - August 28
ROANOKE, Va. (July 8, 2014) — Roanoke’s City Market vendors and regional food trucks will be returning to River’s Edge on Thursday nights from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., beginning July 10 and running through August 28.
This pop up Thursday night market will give patrons an opportunity to stop on the way home and pick up fresh fruits, produce, meat, eggs, seafood, homemade jams, and baked goods—all from local farmers and vendors. The market will be located on Reserve Avenue at the Riverside Sports Complex, which offers free parking in its adjacent lot.
Tracie Hughes, DRI’s Market Manager, said “We were thrilled with the response to this pop up market last year, and wanted to build on that success. City Market at the River allowed the Historic City Market to continue to expand our reach within Downtown and introduce the vendors to new patrons.” DRI will publish a list of the food trucks that will be featured at each Thursday’s market on its web site and Facebook page.
DRI will provide giveaways to customers throughout the series.
City Market at the River will also accept the SNAP/EBT program— like the downtown
The downtown City Market will continue to operate seven days a week, and patrons of City Market at the River will receive special discounts on weekday purchases at the City Market.
