100-year-old heavy timbers, hardwood floors and vaulted ceilings contrasted with the sharp lines of modern design: It's one reason why the Urban Land Institute-Virginia voted The Lofts at West Station it's 2013 Renovation of the Year. But the real story behind our success is an unparalleled commitment to sustainability. From bamboo cabinets and countertops made from 100% recycled paper to Energy Star fixtures and appliances, The Lofts at West Station has become a leader in Roanoke's transition to a modern 21st century American city.
In late July, an $8 million second phase of The Lofts at West Station will open its doors to residents. The project doubles the number of existing loft apartments to 142 while also introducing the new home of Big Lick Brewing Company. Marketing has been under way for 45 days and already more than 50% of the new apartments have been pre-leased.
The Lofts at West Station currently houses 71 apartments and the critically acclaimed Beamer's 25 restaurant. A private stadium-seated movie theater, state-of-the-art workout facility and resident lounge highlight an amenity package that is unmatched in downtown market. Next month, residents will have free access to Roanoke Bike Share with a station located on site. The popular Tuco's Taqueria Garaje, a "Best of Roanoke" taco and tequila bar, is located across the street.
The project is a development by Bill Chapman Inc., a Richmond-based company that has developed over $30M in downtown Roanoke real estate. Its portfolio includes the 416 MicroFarms, Parkway 301, The Lofts at West Station and The Fulton Motor Lofts. Chapman has secured deals for over 25,000 square feet of new commercial space in the downtown market for Luna Innovations, Glenn, Robinson & Cathey Law Firm, Fortunato, Sen. Mark Warner, Beamer's 25, Tuco's Taqueria Garaje and Big Lick Brewing Company.
