The Roanoke Valley’s largest holiday celebration, The Roanoke Times Dickens of a Christmas, returns taking place on the first three Friday nights in December.

It’s the 40th anniversary and we’re celebrating by creating three magical snowy evenings! We’re guaranteeing a 100% chance of snow on Market Street 6:00pm – 9:00pm each night of Dickens.

This community favorite event will have loads of free activities. View the event details below with more information to follow.

If you're interested in being a vendor at Dickens, download our vendor application. Our parade is now full and we are no longer accepting applications.

The City of Roanoke Christmas Parade begins on Jefferson Street at Elm Avenue, turns onto Campbell Avenue, goes past Market Square, and ends at Williamson Road. This year’s parade will start at 6:30pm.
