PAST DATES AND TIMES
LOCATION: History Museum of Western Virginia - 1 Market Square
For more than 15 years, the History Museum of Western Virginia has presented Fantasyland as both an education program and a holiday fundraiser. Fantasyland serves an average of more than 5,000 adults and children each year with wonderful exhibits "retired" from downtown merchants in the 1960s and 1970s and educational programs for school and day care groups.
In green shirt, red suspenders, and lace-up boots, Santa welcomes visitors of all ages, while he teaches important lessons of love and sharing as he tells original stories, sings, plays guitar and piano, and interfaces with children for fun activities. The children experience being loved and appreciated, as well as learn important lessons about kindness, helpfulness, responsibility, tolerance, and love.
This year, Santa will be at the History Museum's temporary location, inside the Shenandoah Hotel while Center in the Square is being renovated.
