Every Wednesday on the Historic City Market 

Wednesdays 11:00am - 2:30pm from May 4th - August 31st

Downtown Roanoke, Inc. is excited to announce Market Wednesdays! Every Wednesday from May 4 - August 31, we'll have mid-day fun happening on the Historic Roanoke City Market in addition to a full complement of market vendors! Stop by during lunch and enjoy a mid-day pick me up. We'll have live entertainment, games and activities plus much more. All activities take place on the City Market from 11:00am - 1:00pm and it's all FREE.

We'll also be offering an increased SNAP match on Market Wednesdays. Wednesdays from May 4 - August 31, we will match up to $15!

5/4 - Games in the Square – Stop by on your lunch break and play some games with us!

5/11 - Rail Yard Dawgs will stop by with giveaways, plus we’ll have a Personal Protection Demo for tips on personal safety

5/18 - Music on the Market with Greg Cruz (a little bit of everything), plus we'll have the Roanoke City Police Department and their GTO (Growth Through Opportunity) Cadets hanging out and answering questions and the Animal Control Wardens on hand to answer questions about pets in Downtown Roanoke

5/25 - Games in the Square – Stop by on your lunch break and play some games with us!

June

6/1 - Games in the Square – Stop by on your lunch break and play some games with us! Plus the Roanoke City Sheriff's Department will join us in the Square.

6/8 - Mill Mountain Theatre presents Tall Tales - An all-new musical adaptation of some of the greatest American tall-tlaes. The adventures of larger than life characters like Paul Bunyon, Johnny Apppleseed, Sal Fink, John Henry, Pecos Bill and Sluefoot Sue, will be woven together with traditional American folk music and retold with dance and creative staging.

6/15 - Mill Mountain Theatre presents All The Worlds A Stage, Rail Yard Dawgs, plus a Personal Protection Demo for tips on personal safety. All The Worlds a Stage: An original production that combines an exploration of Shakespeare’s biography with an introduction to some of his timeless characters and themes. As 2016 marks the 400th anniversary of Shakespear’s death, MMT will celebrate the life and work of the poet and playwright prolific enough to be known simply as “The Bard”. Plus the Roanoke City Sheriff's Department will join us in the Square.

6/22 - PLAY on the Market – Corn Hole plus Mill Mountain Theatre presents Tall Tales - An all-new musical adaptation of some of the greatest American tall-tlaes. 8/24 - PLAY on the Market - Ripped in Rhythm: an energizing, music themed cardio class for people of all ages mixing aerobic movements with rhythm to create a new innovative and sweat-dripping class. It is a fun and invigorating experience that will allow you to unleash your inner rock star and burn off calories.
