Are you interested in painting but worried about your skill level? Do you like bold color combinations but don't quite know how to choose a palette that feels just right? Are unique patterns a personal passion? This is the class for you! In this series, we will build an understanding of what makes an abstract or non-representative painting work, with a special focus on color. In the first class, we will dive into color theory, and do some exercises leading up to choosing a mood palette that is exclusive to you! We will use an extremely limited palette as we explore various patterns in the next class, learning techniques to create a painting that relies on strong repetition for a powerful visual impact. The final class will be all about combining these skills into a show-stopping gorgeous abstract painting ready for you to take home and admire for years to come. There will be a short intro to acrylic paints at the beginning of every class; all materials provided. Cost: Series $75 general public, $60 members. Per class: $30 general public, $24 members.
