🌞 Summer Discovery Days at the Museum! 🌟

Learning disguised as FUN—all summer long!

This summer, give your students the chance to step into history as we explore new ideas and embark on adventures they won’t forget—all while having so much fun they won’t even realize they’re learning!

Summer Discovery Days is a hands-on, interactive series designed for curious minds. Your students will unlock the magic of the past through immersive stories, engaging games, discovery-filled tours, and imaginative hands-on activities. It’s the perfect way for families to keep young minds engaged and entertained while school’s out.

🗓️ Weekly Themes – Mondays from June 10 to July 22:

📅 June 10 – American Flag Celebration
Celebrate our stars and stripes! Learn the U.S. Flag Code, master the respectful art of flag folding, and uncover the fascinating stories behind one of America’s most powerful symbols.

📅 June 17 – 18th Century Kids
Step back in time and discover how colonial kids had fun! Try out traditional games and activities that entertained young ones long before video games and TV.

📅 June 24 – Native American Life
Explore the traditions, cultures, and stories of Virginia’s Indigenous peoples through hands-on learning and storytelling.

📅 July 8 – N&W Walking Tour
All aboard! Hit the tracks on a walking tour of Roanoke’s railroad roots and discover how trains shaped the city we know today.

📅 July 15 – Lead Up to the Revolutionary War
Travel back to a time of growing tension as we uncover the events and decisions that sparked America’s fight for independence.

📅 July 22 – Historic Downtown Walking Tour
Take a journey through time as we walk through Roanoke’s past and learn how a small town became the vibrant city we call home.
