As the nation commemorates its 250th anniversary, explore the legacy of George Washington through the lens of art.
Join Adam Erby, Executive Director for Historic Preservation and Collections and the Martha Washington Chief Curator at George Washington’s Mount Vernon, for a fascinating conversation with Katie Hirsch, Deputy Director of Exhibitions at the Taubman Museum of Art.
Together, they will examine the Museum’s special exhibition, Washington’s Greatest Victory: Yorktown and American Art, and discuss how artists have shaped our understanding of George Washington, the Siege of Yorktown, and the enduring story of American independence.
Drawing on his expertise in early American history, historic preservation, and the collections of George Washington’s Mount Vernon, Erby will offer unique insights into the artists, artworks, and artifacts that continue to define our national story 250 years after the founding of the United States.
