General Admission A rare combination of new and authentic, equal parts romance and grit. Joan preserves bachata’s roots and expands on them. Born in the rural Dominican Republic countryside, Joan Soriano fashioned his first guitar from a tin can and fishing line; today, he is world ambassador of the steel string bachata, the star of Adam Taub’s new documentary, The Duke of Bachata. Drawing upon a variety of influences from Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Afro-infused rhythm that permeates his music has made him a favorite among dancers, packing dance floors and concert halls around the world. 15TH ANNUAL LATIN DANCE PARTY $15 GENERAL ADMISSION, ONLY $12 IF YOU ATTEND THE JOAN SORIANO CONCERT! Immediately following the Joan Soriano show, join us for the 15th Annual Latin Dance Party inside Fitzpatrick Hall.
